The biological meaning of the term adult refers to a human or animal that is a person who has matured. Adults are considered to be a social notion and a legal one in the human world. In contrast to a non-adult or "minor" an legal adult is a person who is at the point of majority and is therefore considered to be independent, self-sufficient, and dependable. The term "major" is a term applied to these individuals. It is generally accepted that the age at which a person legally matures is 18. But, it can vary depending on legal rights and countries as well as the development of the individual's psychological.

Human development is the time during which physical and mental maturation has been reached. The age of adulthood typically begins at 21, which is the average age for adults. Old age is about 60 years old after middle the age of 60. The beginning of adulthood occurs between the age of 18 and 30. Middle adulthood occurs from the mid-30s through to the 60s. Late adulthood starts at the middle of 60s. It is the time to complete physical development by the time we reach our early adulthood years (20-40s) but your weight and height could be a little higher. During young adulthood we reach the highest level of physical abilities.
